Medior/Senior Backend Engineer (Java/Spring Boot) - Neon team

Location: Belgrade, Serbia; hybrid work with office attendance at least 2 days per week

hirify.global is a technology company working with Neon, a Zurich-based fintech startup building a digital banking product for the Swiss market.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services with Java 21, Spring Boot 3, REST APIs, and Kubernetes.
• Own backend components end to end, from technical design through production.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and contribute to an agile Kanban development process.
• Use observability and monitoring tools to maintain system health, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers, QA, product owners, and platform teams.
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions, mentor engineers, and use AI-assisted development tools for coding, reviews, and testing.

Requirements

• Extensive experience building production-grade Java applications.
• Strong knowledge of backend architecture, software design, distributed systems, SQL, REST APIs, microservices, and networking.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience taking ownership of components, features, or systems.
• Fluent spoken and written English required.
• Living in Belgrade or willing to work from the office at least 2 days per week.
