TL;DR
Solution Engineer Lead (Business Applications) (SQL Server/Oracle, C#/.NET, Java): Establishing technical ownership, reliability, and lifecycle practices for data-intensive pricing, energy-trading, and risk-management applications with an accent on production support, system integration, and database engineering. is recruiting for a client seeking technical leadership for a business application portfolio.
What you will do
- Own the technical architecture, engineering direction, reliability, and lifecycle practices for business applications supporting pricing, energy trading, risk management, and related operations.
- Lead complex production incident diagnosis, recovery, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning.
- Design and oversee application enhancements, integrations, data validations, automated controls, monitoring, and performance improvements.
- Coordinate releases, upgrades, patches, deployment validation, rollback plans, and environment promotion.
- Develop architecture diagrams, technical documentation, support runbooks, recovery procedures, and dependency records.
- Mentor application-support engineers and coordinate with business SMEs, infrastructure and database teams, security teams, external providers, and distributed development resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software development, application engineering, integration, or production-support experience, including technical leadership of complex enterprise applications.
- Advanced relational-database and SQL experience, including Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL or Oracle/SQL, stored procedures, batch processing, data reconciliation, and performance tuning.
- Experience with enterprise applications, REST APIs, file exchanges, scheduled processing, system integrations, source control, CI/CD, release management, testing, rollback, and environment promotion.
- Experience leading high-severity incidents, root-cause analysis, production recovery, technical documentation, and support runbook development.
- Ability to provide after-hours production support when business-critical needs require it.
Nice to have
- Experience with energy-trading, risk-management, commodity-management, pricing, scheduling, settlement, or billing platforms.
- Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub or Git, IIS, Power Automate, SaaS platforms, or retail-energy systems.
- Cloud, database, software-engineering, ITIL, or DevOps certifications.
