Production Supervisor (Dry Ice)

Location: Hopewell, Virginia, United States; onsite night-shift work at a dry-ice facility

Salary: $30.50 per hour

What you will do

• Supervise plant operators during dry-ice production, packaging, shipping preparation, and commercial truck loading and unloading.
• Coordinate safe plant start-up, shutdown, production resources, labor, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor operational status, supply inventories, production demand, and material availability.
• Interview, onboard, mentor, train, and evaluate production associates.
• Identify and correct safety hazards and quality deficiencies while enforcing plant procedures and company policies.
• Remain available for night-shift, on-call, and occasional forklift duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma and three years of experience supervising 10 or more production workers in an industrial setting.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to enforce policies and discipline staff fairly and professionally.
• Very good written and verbal communication, organization, personnel administration, time tracking, and inventory management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email, plus math skills for budgeting and cost control.
• Ability to work safely in a noisy environment with elevated CO2 vapor and occasionally lift 5–50 lb. dry-ice blocks.

Nice to have

• Associate degree.
• Experience with block presses, saws, pelletizers, valves, or other ice-plant machinery.
• Active forklift certification.
