Family & Occupational Medicine Physician (Primary and Occupational Care): Providing patient-centered primary care and occupational health services at an employer-sponsored health center with an accent on preventive care, chronic disease management, and comprehensive workplace evaluations. Focus on performing DOT and fit-for-duty physicals, managing work injuries and exposures, conducting occupational testing and surveillance, and completing regulatory and workers’ compensation reporting.
Location: Newport News, Virginia, United States; onsite at an assigned Center
Salary: $230,000–$280,000 per year, plus annual incentive and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do
- Provide patient-centered primary care for adults and children through an employer-sponsored direct primary care model.
- Deliver occupational health services, including pre-employment, return-to-work, fit-for-duty, DOT, public safety, and travel physicals.
- Administer vaccines, occupational laboratories, drug and alcohol testing, vision and TB screening, lift testing, hearing conservation, pulmonary function testing, and respirator fit testing.
- Manage work injuries and exposures, stay-at-work coordination, work restrictions, referrals, and occupational surveillance programs.
- Complete regulatory, workers’ compensation, first report of injury, OSHA log, and recordability documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and at least two Advanced Practice Providers.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of residency in Family Practice or Internal Medicine plus Pediatrics.
- Board certification or eligibility with intent to certify is required.
- Active state medical license required; CPR/BLS certification required by the start date.
- At least 2 years of experience in internal medicine or family/general practice required; 2+ years in occupational medicine preferred.
- DOT Medical Examiner Certification through the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners is required or must be obtained after hire.
- DEA registration is preferred; a dispensing license may be required under state regulations.
