Focus on interpreting medical insurance and procurement reforms, coordinating VBP and DRG/DIP strategies, and translating national market access priorities into local actions.
Location: Hefei, Anhui, China; the role description also identifies Shanghai, China. Hybrid work arrangement.

What you will do
- Lead provincial and municipal market access strategy, policy engagement, and execution for assigned regions in China.
- Monitor healthcare, medical insurance, pricing, procurement, and medical consumables policies and assess business opportunities and access risks.
- Represent DePuy Synthes China in engagements with healthcare security administrations, health commissions, pricing authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and coordinate regional strategies for volume-based procurement, consumables tenders, DRG/DIP payment initiatives, catalogue inclusion, and reimbursement standards.
- Collaborate with business units, commercial teams, central market access functions, industry associations, and professional organizations.
- Provide local policy interpretation, execution guidance, and cross-functional coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in public health, health insurance, management, biomedical sciences, economics, MBA, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in government affairs, market access, healthcare policy, or related roles.
- Experience with provincial and municipal healthcare policy environments; medical device or pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in policy projects, negotiations, and stakeholder or key-account management.
- Strong understanding of China’s local healthcare and medical insurance systems, with the ability to work in complex and high-pressure environments.
- Working-level English communication skills in writing and speaking; willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region.
