Senior Director, GRC

Location: San Francisco, California, United States. The role includes an immersive, in-person onboarding experience.

Salary: $236,000–$325,000 annual base salary for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additional salary ranges apply to California outside the Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington. Equity, bonus, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Lead and scale the Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance organization.
• Integrate AI and agentic tools into GRC operations, including automated evidence collection, risk scoring, policy mapping, and continuous audit readiness.
• Operationalize AI risk and governance across training data protection, model risk management, responsible AI, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
• Lead enterprise-wide cyber risk identification, prioritization, treatment, and quantification.
• Manage global security and privacy compliance, audits, customer assurances, regulatory reviews, and engineering-led remediation.
• Partner with Product Management, Legal, Privacy, Infrastructure, and Business Technology to align compliance with product roadmaps and commercial objectives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive Security GRC leadership experience in a high-growth SaaS, cloud-first, or enterprise technology environment.
• Experience with generative and agentic AI security, AI/ML governance, data lineage, and global AI regulations.
• Extensive experience managing compliance for enterprise cloud environments and security frameworks including SOC, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, CSA STAR, and related standards.
• Deep knowledge of risk management methodologies and the ability to explain technical risks to senior executives.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring, and retaining technical GRC engineering and risk management teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
