TL;DR
Senior Manager, Site Reliability Engineering (Federal) (SRE/FedRAMP): Leading reliable and compliant operations for Okta's FedRAMP High, IL4, and IL5 federal environments with an accent on SRE leadership, federal security stakeholder management, and continuous monitoring. Focus on incident response, FedRAMP change management, ATO support, compliant automation, and maintaining 99.999% availability under strict federal requirements.

Location: Washington, DC; hybrid. U.S. Citizenship and documentation establishing U.S. Person status are required to access federal environments and protected federal data.

Salary: $207,000–$284,900 annual base salary, plus potential equity, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Lead and grow SRE teams operating FedRAMP High, IL4, and IL5 environments.
  • Manage operational relationships with federal security leaders, including AOs, ISSOs, and ISSMs.
  • Own continuous monitoring, POA&M remediation, vulnerability SLA compliance, and operational risk reporting for the federal boundary.
  • Partner with GovCloud product and security teams on FedRAMP-compliant infrastructure changes.
  • Lead incident response and post-incident reviews while meeting federal reporting obligations.
  • Maintain runbooks, SSPs, evidence packages, compliant self-service tooling, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience, including at least 3 years in a federal or regulated environment.
  • Experience working directly with federal security stakeholders and supporting FedRAMP ATO processes, continuous monitoring, or FISMA assessments.
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP authorization frameworks, FISMA reporting requirements, and DISA STIGs.
  • Experience operating large-scale cloud infrastructure in FedRAMP-authorized environments; AWS GovCloud experience is preferred.
  • Strong SRE or platform engineering background with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, and incident management.
  • U.S. Citizenship and U.S. Person documentation are required; active or current eligibility for a Secret-or-higher federal security clearance may be required for some programs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with IL4 or IL5 environments.
  • Active or current eligibility for a federal security clearance at Secret level or above.
