Associate Director, Payments

Location: St Helier, with flexible hybrid working. The role also allows working abroad for up to three weeks per year.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end payments function, including operating models, controls, configuration, performance management, and continuous improvement.
• Develop the future payments offering in line with strategic growth, jurisdictional requirements, and client service objectives.
• Provide expertise across international payment rails, cross-border processing, payment messaging standards, payment hubs, and banking connectivity.
• Select, implement, and optimise SaaS treasury management systems, payment technologies, workflow tools, and related infrastructure.
• Manage banking and technology provider relationships, including negotiations and service performance.
• Work with Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, and client-facing teams to maintain governance, resilience, reporting, and control standards.

Requirements

• Significant banking experience in a multi-jurisdictional financial services, fund administration, corporate services, or banking environment.
• Extensive experience with international payment systems, cross-border processing, payment messaging standards, and banking connectivity.
• Practical experience with SaaS treasury management systems, payment hubs, payment workflow tools, and implementation or optimisation projects.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, operational controls, reconciliation, exception management, client service, and relevant banking regulations.
• Experience leading operational service teams across multiple jurisdictions and managing high-performing Payments teams.
• Strong people leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, organisation, attention to detail, and control mindset, including knowledge of AML and risk frameworks.
