Senior Algorithm Engineer (AI): Developing and optimizing image processing, signal processing, and AI algorithms for semiconductor wafer inspection, defect detection, classification, and metrology systems with an accent on computer vision, machine learning, and high-performance implementation. Focus on modeling, production deployment, large-scale manufacturing data analysis, and resolving complex algorithm and system issues in semiconductor fabs.
Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; onsite support in semiconductor fabs, including TSMC, may be required.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and optimize algorithms for semiconductor inspection and metrology systems.
- Build models and simulations, proof-of-concept solutions, production software, and algorithm validation workflows.
- Analyze large-scale production data to improve robustness, productivity, and defect-detection performance.
- Collaborate with software, systems, applications, product, and hardware engineering teams to prototype and deploy new capabilities.
- Investigate algorithm, system, and production issues in customer manufacturing environments.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and AI-enabled inspection and metrology solutions.
Requirements
- Doctorate with 0 years of related experience, or a master's degree with 3 years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience.
- Strong foundation in image processing, segmentation, texture analysis, feature extraction, statistical analysis, signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, deep learning, or computer vision.
- Programming experience with C/C++ and MATLAB and/or Python.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work directly with customers and support engineering activities in semiconductor manufacturing fabs.
Nice to have
- CPU optimization using SIMD, SSE, or AVX.
- GPU programming with CUDA.
- High-performance computing and algorithm acceleration experience.
