Location: San Francisco (Hybrid)

Salary: $205,000 – $270,000

What you will do

• Define the technical and market strategy for a new data center switching product line.
• Partner with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams to guide control plane and API design.
• Review technical designs, debug alongside engineers, and make informed hardware-software tradeoff decisions.
• Build and scale the engineering team responsible for control plane, optics, and observability.
• Engage with prospective data center customers to identify market needs and underserved requirements.
• Stay current on networking research to proactively address potential engineering challenges.

Requirements

• Experience building or shipping firmware/software for data center networking platforms.
• Deep understanding of control plane design, API design, and observability in real-world deployments.
• Technical knowledge of hardware constraints including ASIC capabilities, port speed, and thermal limits.
• Ability to align cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Systems-thinking mindset with a focus on scalable, long-term architecture.
• Strong reputation within the data center networking community.
