Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Full-time onsite in Bellevue, Washington, United States; remote and hybrid options are not available. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $108,000–$216,000 annually, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Own scoped feature and model delivery across the full software development lifecycle.
• Design, implement, test, deploy, and support scalable services, APIs, and AI/ML components.
• Build high-throughput, low-latency systems using technologies including Java, Rust, reactive programming, Kafka, Cassandra, caching, Resilience4J, and Kubernetes.
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, defect management, performance monitoring, and observability improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a relevant bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, software design, documentation-based coding, and full software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, debugging, code review, and continuous development.
• Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
• Experience integrating AI/ML components and using generative AI tools to improve development efficiency.
• Must work onsite in Bellevue, Washington, and already have U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
