TL;DR
Sr Fullstack Developer (Java): Building and operating cloud-based enterprise applications, shared services, APIs, and platform capabilities for the OneTru ecosystem with an accent on scalability, security, resilience, and reliability. Focus on designing cloud-native solutions with Java, Spring Boot, REST, and GCP, troubleshooting complex distributed systems, and improving observability and operational excellence.
Location: Remote, based in Lagunilla de Heredia, Costa Rica; occasional in-person attendance at work-related events may be required

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-based enterprise applications and shared platform capabilities.
- Build shared services, frameworks, REST APIs, and infrastructure components for the OneTru ecosystem.
- Translate business requirements and data models into scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing solutions.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle, including production support, releases, and an on-call rotation.
- Lead code and design reviews, mentor engineers, and promote software engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and improve platform performance, observability, availability, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM field preferred; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, GCP, cloud-native architectures, Git, relational databases, and SQL.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including independent troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues.
- Experience mentoring engineers and conducting code and design reviews.
- Advanced English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Scala, JavaScript, Python, Bash, NoSQL databases, or modern web application development.
- Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, configuration management, Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, large-scale data technologies, SRE, observability, monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, high availability, or disaster recovery.
- Relevant Google Cloud professional certifications.
