Associate Project Manager (Food Processing & Packaging): Managing L0-L1 processing and L1-L2 packaging projects across scope, budget, schedule, quality, governance, and customer satisfaction with an accent on project execution, engineering coordination, and food processing equipment. Focus on planning milestones, controlling scope and variation orders, managing customer-site delivery, and coordinating quotations with account managers and engineering teams.
Location: Based in Vernon Hills, Illinois, USA, or Toronto, Ontario, Canada; travel to customer sites in the US and Canada for 10–15% of working time.
Annual base salary: USD 86,700–123,800 or CAD 89,400–127,600, plus eligibility for a 10% performance incentive.

What you will do
- Lead the execution of L0-L1 processing and/or L1-L2 packaging projects.
- Plan project tasks, milestones, deliverables, budgets, quality requirements, and governance.
- Manage scope changes, issue variation orders, and maintain project documentation and communications.
- Coordinate quotation development with account managers and engineering teams.
- Participate in project review boards and provide lessons learned for process and tool improvements.
- Continue project management education, including preparation for or maintenance of PMP certification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering and/or project management.
- Experience with food processing and/or packaging equipment.
- Experience with budgeting, fiscal management, project planning, leadership, and communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, SAP, and basic AutoCAD.
- Very good written and spoken English; the role requires working from the US or Canada locations listed above.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of dairy, beverage, powder, and/or aseptic processing and packaging.
