TL;DR
R&D Firmware Engineer (Embedded Systems): Designing, developing, integrating, and debugging embedded firmware across hardware, firmware, and software layers with an accent on C/C++, RTOS, Linux, device drivers, and system integration. Focus on end-to-end feature delivery, deep system-level debugging, firmware architecture, CI/CD automation, and leading cross-functional engineering work.

What you will do
- Design, develop, integrate, and debug firmware subsystems including embedded code, DSP, EFI drivers, EFI applications, and BIOS/UEFI.
- Own end-to-end feature development from requirements and architecture through implementation, integration, testing, and validation.
- Debug complex interactions across hardware, firmware, and software layers using logs, tracing, diagnostic tools, JTAG, and protocol analyzers.
- Create testing plans, documentation, technical manuscripts, and solutions for firmware issues.
- Drive firmware architecture alignment, scalability, modularity, reusability, and maintainability across multiple programs.
- Lead project teams and collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, software developers, quality assurance, product managers, and external development partners.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in firmware development or a related field, or an advanced degree with 3–5 years of experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated competence.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded environments, plus Python for automation, scripting, and test frameworks.
- Experience with embedded systems, firmware development, RTOS, Linux or Embedded Linux, device drivers, hardware abstraction layers, and system integration.
- Strong system-level design, debugging, problem-solving, communication, technical leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Position location: Singapore, South West, Singapore.
Nice to have
- Experience with end-to-end product or feature development in embedded systems and colour science.
- Embedded systems, Linux, or AI/ML certifications.
- Experience with New Product Introduction, GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted development, CI/CD pipelines, and automated build and test systems.
