TL;DR
Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison (Biopharma): Building scientific relationships and delivering medical support for Insmed therapies in rare, pulmonary, respiratory, and infectious diseases with an accent on healthcare practitioner engagement, clinical development, and medical affairs execution. Focus on presenting scientific data, collecting field insights, supporting clinical trials, and solving complex patient-access and healthcare-policy challenges across the designated U.S. region.

Location: Fully remote within the designated U.S. region covering Kansas, Oklahoma, Alaska, and Memphis, Tennessee. Frequent domestic and international travel of up to 60–80% is required, including team meetings, events, and scientific engagements.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, researchers, payers, and healthcare organizations.
  • Conduct scientific exchanges and present product, disease-state, and clinical data in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify medical experts, consultants, investigators, and clinical trial sites in assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Collect, synthesize, and communicate healthcare practitioner insights to support product planning, clinical development, and medical affairs strategies.
  • Support advisory boards, scientific forums, research programs, trial recruitment, and issue resolution.
  • Deliver medical and disease-state training and mentoring to internal colleagues while supporting medical affairs and clinical development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or NP/PA, plus five years of relevant field medical experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience in rare or orphan diseases, pulmonary or respiratory diseases, infectious diseases, medical information, medical strategy, clinical management, or clinical trials.
  • Must reside in the designated U.S. region.
  • Excellent English command and advanced presentation, interpersonal, listening, probing, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of the PhRMA Code of Conduct, Sunshine Act, HIPAA, promotional regulations, and applicable laws.
  • Understanding of the U.S. healthcare system, healthcare policy, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics, and population-based health management.
