What you will do
- Lead international activities that manage health, safety, and environmental risks across BT and third-party suppliers.
- Improve safety and environmental standards through benchmarking, legislative review, and evaluation of new market solutions.
- Author, own, and approve sustainability, environmental, health, safety, and risk-management policies and assessments.
- Assess contractor HSE management systems during tenders and operational reviews, supporting procurement decisions.
- Induct contractors and represent BT as a health and safety professional in regulatory or court proceedings when required.
Requirements
- IEMA Foundation or Practitioner Certificate, or an equivalent environmental management qualification.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent, with membership of a professional body.
- Experience with environmental management systems, particularly ISO 14001.
- Expertise in occupational health, safety, environmental risk management, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, presentation, data analysis, and complex change-management skills.
Nice to have
- NEBOSH Construction or equivalent qualification.
- Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification for ISO 14001.
- Experience managing environmental issues and health, safety, and environmental projects.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and industry compliance requirements.
