TL;DR
Senior Data Governance Manager (AI Governance): Developing and executing information, privacy, customer data, and AI governance frameworks for BT International with an accent on regulatory compliance, data sovereignty, and governance by design. Focus on leading Privacy Impact Assessment governance, coordinating the Data & AI Council, resolving accountability challenges, and embedding responsible AI controls across product, technology, delivery, legal, and security teams.

Location: Hybrid role based in Hungary, with offices in Budapest and Debrecen; smart working model with 3 days together and 2 days wherever

What you will do

  • Develop and continuously improve Information Governance frameworks, operating models, controls, and maturity initiatives.
  • Own the Privacy Impact Assessment governance process and embed Privacy by Design into products, services, and strategic programmes.
  • Lead governance for Customer Data Handling, Data Sovereignty, Data Segregation, Information Classification, and Data Retention.
  • Drive accountability across Information Owners, Product, Delivery, Legal, Technology, Engineering, and Security teams.
  • Lead the BT International Data & AI Council, including governance papers, executive reporting, meeting outcomes, and action tracking.
  • Support safe, responsible, compliant AI adoption and manage information governance risks, audits, and regulatory assessments.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading enterprise Information Governance or Data Governance programmes.
  • Experience in telecommunications or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, operating models, governance controls, privacy, data protection, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with Privacy Impact Assessments, Privacy by Design, Customer Data Handling, Data Sovereignty, and information lifecycle management.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders at Director level and leading cross-functional transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI Governance and Responsible AI initiatives.
  • Understanding of Information Security frameworks and ISO 27001 or ISMS.
  • Professional certification such as DAMA CDMP, DCAM, CIPM, or CIPP/E.
