Senior Research Associate, Cell Culture (Biotechnology): Conducting cell line development and cell culture process development for antibody products with an accent on mammalian cell culture, bioreactor operations, molecular biology, and GMP support. Location: Waltham, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite laboratory work is required, with travel to CDMO sites and conferences up to 10% of the time.

What you will do
- Conduct shake flask and bench-scale bioreactor experiments for cell culture process development and characterization.
- Execute cell line development workflows, including producer cell line generation, genetic stability testing, and Research Cell Bank establishment.
- Prepare DNA vectors using homology-based cloning, bacterial transformation and propagation, and kit-based purification.
- Monitor and sample cell culture processes, evaluating viability, cell density, metabolites, pH, and related attributes.
- Support technology transfer, scale-up calculations, process troubleshooting, GMP manufacturing, batch record review, and deviation investigations.
- Document experimental results, present data to cross-functional teams, maintain laboratory equipment, and represent at CDMO sites.
Requirements
- B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related discipline with 3 years of relevant industry experience, or an M.S. with 1 year of relevant industry experience.
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting mammalian cell culture operations, including aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of cell culture parameters, including growth rate, density, viability, population doubling, metabolites, and cell waste.
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell transfection for transient and/or stable gene expression.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Some work outside standard hours, including weekends, is required due to cell culture activities.
