Sr Manager Automation

Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States; onsite Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Automation Engineers and Supervisors.
• Set priorities, delegate work, and manage performance and development discussions.
• Lead vendor relationships and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Engineering, and IT teams.
• Lead projects improving automation reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
• Support validation activities, including design reviews, testing, and implementation of automation changes.
• Supervise GxP-regulated software and automation systems, including change control, investigations, corrective actions, and periodic evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting automation, controls, manufacturing systems, or related technologies.
• At least 3 years of people leadership experience, including management of teams of eight or more employees.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience designing, installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting automated control systems.
• Experience leading technical projects from planning through implementation and working in regulated environments with quality and compliance requirements.
• Participation in an on-call rotation approximately every fourth week is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, GxP-regulated manufacturing, nuclear, naval, or similarly structured technical environments.
• Knowledge of software change control, deviation investigations, CAPA, and automation quality systems.
