Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles (Culver City) or the San Francisco Bay Area (FiDi), with at least three days per week in the office.

Salary: $181,000–$225,000 USD per year for Los Angeles.

What you will do

• Improve the performance and resilience of backend systems across product teams.
• Design and implement observability practices using OpenTelemetry, logging, and standard SLOs.
• Own incident response process design and follow-up activities.
• Mentor engineering teams on secure, performant, and resilient coding practices.
• Implement automated testing practices to improve code quality.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams on shared infrastructure.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services in B2B financial services, fintech, or SaaS.
• Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Strong SQL knowledge, including PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Strong communication, ownership, resilience, and creative problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Terraform, Kafka, Temporal, Debezium, Snowflake, GitLab CI/CD, and OpenTelemetry.
• Expertise in AI best practices, including Claude.
• Experience managing tabletop exercises.
• Knowledge of brokerage platforms and financial services.
