Sr Manager, Quality Engineering

Location: Remote in Brazil; occasional presence at a hirify.global office may be required with scheduled notice.

What you will do

• Lead a quality engineering team responsible for quality standards, shared frameworks, and adoption guidelines.
• Design and implement testing procedures for APIs, abstractions, integration patterns, and distributed systems.
• Oversee end-to-end, integration, contract, service, performance, load, chaos, and resilience testing.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential risks.
• Review code and maintain accountability for the team’s development and testing activities.
• Participate in proof-of-concept work and technical evaluations of emerging technologies.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 11+ years of relevant experience without the degree requirement.
• Experience designing and implementing testing procedures for APIs and integration patterns.
• Experience leading teams to ensure productivity and high-quality delivery.
• Experience with code review and accountability for development and testing activities.
• Experience testing distributed microservices, including service virtualization, mocking, test data management, and validation across multiple environments.
• Experience validating failure modes and correctness in event-driven and asynchronous architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience using production signals such as incidents, logs, alerts, defects, and customer-impact patterns to identify systemic quality gaps.
• Experience integrating emerging technologies into software quality engineering practices.
