Associate Publishing Manager, Nature Masterclasses

What you will do

• Coordinate the development of online courses, webinars, and short-form training content for researchers.
• Commission and coordinate internal and external experts, reviewers, freelancers, and production partners.
• Lead video and webinar production, including filming coordination, quality control, presentations, participant communication, technical setup, and publication.
• Manage copy-editing, proofreading, QA review, rights and permissions, and content workflows in content and learning management systems.
• Create project schedules, track milestones and costs, document progress, mitigate risks, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Support product strategy, market and competitor analysis, new product pilots, and marketing and sales materials.

Requirements

• Experience working or studying in a research environment and understanding of scientists’ and researchers’ needs.
• Graduate degree in the sciences.
• Excellent project management, written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for editorial excellence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with publishing, learning design, content engagement, marketing, sales, and freelance contributors.

Nice to have

• Experience commissioning subject matter experts and managing freelancers such as proofreaders, videographers, and expert reviewers.
• Experience in scientific research, scientific or educational publishing, science communication, or training product development.
• Prior publishing or product development experience.
• Comfort working with usage data analysis and content or learning management systems.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
