Senior Data Analyst (Oil & Gas)

Location: Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina; relocation will not be considered

What you will do

• Partner with business stakeholders, traders, Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to deliver data-driven solutions for the global Supply & Trading organization.
• Lead requirements-gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and documentation of business, functional, reporting, and data requirements.
• Create and validate report, dashboard, and data model mock-ups to support solution design and stakeholder alignment.
• Guide business users and Citizen Developers in discovering and using enterprise data products and self-service analytics.
• Identify data quality gaps and coordinate their resolution across data sources, datasets, and reporting solutions.
• Perform functional testing, coordinate UAT, manage defects, and obtain stakeholder sign-off for delivered analytics solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Product Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Excel, or similar business intelligence and reporting tools, including work with relational databases and complex datasets.
• Experience with requirements gathering, report and dashboard validation, data quality investigations, and UAT test planning and execution.
• Employment visa sponsorship is not available, and candidates on time-limited visa status will not be considered.

Nice to have

• Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Commodities, or Supply & Trading analytics.
• Knowledge of crude, refined products, natural gas, NGLs, LNG, or other commodity markets.
• Experience with self-service analytics, data governance, data quality management, metadata, or enterprise data cataloging.
• Experience with Agile or SAFe delivery environments and Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to Data Science, Machine Learning, Generative AI, or Agentic AI use cases.
