What you will do

• Design and build the UI and API automation stack for a new platform, including structure, conventions, and reporting.
• Automate core platform flows such as client environment provisioning, proxy routing, betting integrations, and related user journeys.
• Integrate smoke and regression testing into GitLab CI/CD with clear release and client-environment quality gates.
• Build API, integration, WebSocket, and gRPC tests for backend and client-facing services.
• Set up parallel, stable test execution with effective flaky-test handling, logs, traces, screenshots, and useful failure reporting.
• Own test data and environment strategy while collaborating with architects, BAs, product, and QA engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in test automation or SDET roles, including strong end-to-end coverage of web UI and backend services.
• Strong Python skills for production-quality test automation code, reviews, and framework design.
• Experience building or rebuilding automation frameworks, not only maintaining existing solutions.
• UI automation experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium; API automation with REST, WebSockets, or gRPC.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, quality gates, web fundamentals, test data, environment configuration, and failure debugging.
• Ability to mentor QA engineers and work effectively in greenfield, high-change environments with initially unclear scope.

Nice to have

• Background in sportsbook, betting, iGaming, casino, or real-time fintech products.
• Knowledge of bet placement, settlement, cashout, balances, and live or in-play flows.
• Experience with load and performance testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Locust.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, ReportPortal, or self-hosted browser grids.
• Experience with LLM-assisted test maintenance, synthetic data, or usage-based browser and device matrices.
