Senior Software Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Castel Maggiore, Bologna, Italy

Salary: €41,600 minimum gross annually, with the final amount based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain software for medical devices and connectivity products.
• Translate technical requirements and design specifications into scalable, high-quality code.
• Create and execute unit tests and contribute to automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Collaborate with Verification, Quality, Product Management, and Engineering teams to investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Set up and maintain development and testing environments.
• Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong programming skills in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, C#, .NET, Java, or Kotlin.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium, software security, networking, and relational databases.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, documentation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or life sciences.
• Exposure to regulated environments and software quality standards.
• Knowledge of FDA, IEC 62304, or ISO 13485 software development practices.
