What you will do

  • Support rapid needs assessments, baseline surveys, contingency planning, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Coordinate and implement emergency response and disaster risk reduction activities while monitoring quality, budgets, timelines, and humanitarian standards.
  • Collect, validate, and track project data, indicators, beneficiary records, feedback, complaints, and lessons learned.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, assessment, and response progress reports.
  • Engage communities, local authorities, humanitarian partners, and vulnerable groups in participatory project delivery.
  • Monitor humanitarian risks and support rapid deployment, outbreak response, displacement response, and other emergency operations.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in public health, nursing, community development, clinical medicine, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in emergency, relief, or development programming, including large-scale community-based humanitarian projects.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience in ASAL and availability for the Kakuma, Kenya field location.
  • Strong project management, technical design, humanitarian response, and disease outbreak response skills.
  • Experience with community engagement, participatory approaches, and community negotiation.
  • Understanding of SPHERE and other international and national humanitarian standards, with strong communication and computer skills.
