Extrusion Operator

Location: Laverton VIC 3028, Australia; onsite role

Salary: Up to AUD 34.05 per hour, plus overtime and allowances

Operating through Circular Plastics Australia, hirify.global and Cleanaway run a large-scale polyethylene recycling facility that converts HDPE and PP plastic into recycled resin for packaging and industrial applications.

What you will do

• Operate and set up extrusion machines to produce food-grade recycled plastic resin according to specifications.
• Prepare raw materials, load equipment, and bag finished resin as required.
• Maintain and change dies, cutting blades, and filters based on product requirements.
• Monitor heat, pressure, vacuum, amperage, and other operating conditions.
• Perform quality checks using melt flow index, bulk density, and resin colour testing equipment.
• Complete routine maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, maintain production records, and report issues to the Shift Lead.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating and maintaining extrusion machinery.
• AQF Certificate III in Polymer Processing or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
• Ability to perform manual duties, including moderate to heavy lifting.
• Strong safety mindset and willingness to raise safety concerns.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Forklift licence and SAP experience are advantageous.
