TL;DR
Vice President & Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Radiometer (Acute Care Diagnostics): Leading Radiometer’s global medical, clinical, and scientific strategy across innovation, product development, commercialization, and lifecycle management with an accent on evidence generation, regulatory readiness, and patient-centered diagnostics. Focus on building a high-performing global medical organization, guiding AI-enabled diagnostic innovation, and partnering with clinical, regulatory, quality, R&D, and commercial stakeholders.

Location: Preferably on-site in Copenhagen, Denmark; remote work is available within Europe for exceptional candidates. Regular international travel is required.

Compensation: DKK 2,000,000–2,500,000 annually, plus annual incentive eligibility and long-term incentive opportunities.

What you will do

  • Define and lead Radiometer’s global medical strategy across innovation, clinical development, product launches, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead medical affairs and evidence-generation strategies, including clinical research, investigator-initiated studies, post-market evidence, real-world evidence, and publication planning.
  • Partner with Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D, Commercial, Market Access, and platform leaders on product development, clinical claims, patient safety, and regulatory interactions.
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, healthcare systems, scientific societies, guideline committees, and industry partners.
  • Champion AI-enabled diagnostics, precision medicine, biomarker strategy, software-enabled diagnostics, digital health integration, and data-driven clinical decision support.
  • Build and develop a high-performing global medical organization with scalable operating models, governance frameworks, KPIs, and succession planning.

Requirements

  • Medical degree such as MD, MBBS, DO, or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in diagnostics, medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related healthcare industries.
  • Significant experience leading global medical affairs, clinical development, or medical-scientific organizations in highly matrixed environments.
  • Deep expertise in in vitro diagnostics, acute care diagnostics, or adjacent clinical diagnostic technologies, with experience supporting product development, clinical validation, regulatory approvals, and commercialization.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, IVDR, CLIA, global clinical evidence requirements, post-market surveillance, diagnostic claims, analytical validation, and clinical utility evidence.
  • Ability to lead across global healthcare systems and cultures with strong executive communication, stakeholder engagement, scientific rigor, compliance, and patient-centricity.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience as a Chief Medical Officer or senior medical executive in diagnostics or acute care.
  • Experience with critical care, hospital diagnostics, blood gas analysis, point-of-care testing, AI/ML-enabled diagnostics, digital pathology, biomarker development, or software-enabled medical technologies.
  • Knowledge of health economics, HTA, reimbursement strategy, value-based evidence generation, and the hirify.global Business System.
  • Strong external scientific reputation through publications, advisory roles, or participation in professional societies.
  • Experience leading medical organizations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
