Senior Engineer - Process Development (Genomics)

Location: San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $98,400–$147,600 base salary annually, plus eligible bonus, commission, and equity programs.

What you will do

• Develop, scale, improve, and validate manufacturing processes for sequencing consumables.
• Represent operations needs on product development teams and transfer products and processes into manufacturing.
• Partner with Product Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, vendors, and contract manufacturing organizations to support launches and high-volume production.
• Use Critical Parameter Management and design of experiments to optimize processes and resolve yield and quality issues.
• Define technical requirements, author process documentation, and transfer manufacturing and quality-control processes to volume production.
• Lead supplier notifications, investigations, non-conformance management, risk activities, technical vendor oversight, and process audits, including up to 10% domestic and international travel.

Requirements

• Industrial or academic experience with semiconductor, CMOS, or MEMS processes, including wet or dry etching, photolithography, and deposition.
• Ph.D. in a relevant engineering, materials science, or bioengineering discipline with 1–3+ years of relevant experience, or B.S./M.S. with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in process definition and development, production support, sustaining, design, scale-up, improvement, and validation.
• Strong problem-solving, reasoning, interdepartmental communication, and documentation skills.
• Experience with high-volume semiconductor manufacturing transfer, microelectronic assembly, CMO management, or supplier qualification is advantageous or preferred.
