AI Tutor - Design Specialist

Location: Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs. US candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois.

Compensation: $35–$75 per hour for US-based candidates, depending on experience, skills, education, geographic location, and qualifications. International compensation is provided during recruitment.

What you will do

• Evaluate design outputs across visual assets, layouts, documents, websites, interactive prototypes, and games.
• Identify and clearly explain problems in design quality, usability, hierarchy, typography, spacing, color, composition, and clarity.
• Refine, restyle, or recreate weak outputs to produce high-quality reference examples.
• Write precise annotations and critiques distinguishing mediocre, good, and excellent design.
• Label datasets covering graphic design, interface design, web experiences, game feel, and design writing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on evaluation tasks, rubrics, and examples for design quality.

Requirements

• Demonstrated design excellence in at least one discipline, such as graphic, brand, visual, product, UI/UX, web, or game design, or illustration.
• A portfolio or equivalent body of shipped or published work showing strong taste and finished, high-quality results.
• Ability to evaluate design outside the primary specialty and explain what works, what does not, and why.
• Fluent English and excellent written communication for critiques, annotations, and design rationale.
• High attention to detail, adaptability to evolving instructions, and ability to create reference examples rather than only score existing work.
• Personal-device users must use a Chromebook, macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.

Nice to have

• Experience across multiple design domains or reviewing websites, product interfaces, or games.
• Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design principles.
• Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with generative AI design tools, design critique, art direction, QA, data annotation, dataset creation, or AI evaluation.
• Familiarity with frontend or game-engine tools and remote collaboration platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, and Notion.
