AI Tutor - Humanities

Location: Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs. US candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois. Visa sponsorship is not available.

US-based compensation: $35–$75 per hour. International compensation is provided during recruitment.

What you will do

• Evaluate AI model outputs for factual accuracy, logical coherence, fallacious reasoning, hidden assumptions, anachronisms, source misuse, ideological slant, and unsupported claims.
• Create high-quality annotations, exemplary responses, reference answers, and training datasets grounded in primary sources and scholarship.
• Distinguish settled knowledge, contested interpretations, and speculation while steel-manning opposing views.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design evaluation tasks, rubrics, and examples for humanities-focused model behavior.
• Help define model responses that are precise, appropriately sourced, proportionately confident, and transparent about uncertainty.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge in at least one field including linguistics, history, classical studies, literature, poetry, philosophy, ethics, visual arts, or performing arts.
• Ability to assess argument validity, soundness, hidden premises, and category errors.
• Experience relying on primary sources and weighing them against secondary literature.
• Ability to distinguish settled knowledge from interpretation or speculation and to steel-man opposing views.
• Excellent analytical writing in English at a highly proficient level, with clear, precise, and evidence-calibrated communication.
• Ability to produce annotations, critiques, and reference answers from evolving instructions.

Nice to have

• PhD or equivalent scholarly depth in a relevant humanities field.
• Published peer-reviewed or rigorously sourced analytical work.
• Experience in teaching, academic peer review, archival research, textual criticism, historiography, or formal argument analysis.
• Experience evaluating AI or LLM outputs, building benchmarks, or creating training data.
• Cross-disciplinary expertise or public writing and lectures on complex humanistic subjects.
