Manager, Production Engineering (Kubernetes)

Location: New York, NY; Sunnyvale, CA; or Bellevue, WA. Access to export-controlled information requires the candidate to be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for access under U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $182,000–$242,000 base salary per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers.
• Set priorities, roadmaps, ownership models, and success measures for the team.
• Define decision-making, escalation, and on-call practices as the organization grows.
• Partner with technical leaders on architecture and reliable infrastructure and automation.
• Establish practices for testing, observability, safe changes, incident response, and on-call operations.
• Resolve cross-team dependencies and use operational and delivery data to guide investments and improvements.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, platform, SRE, or production engineering, including people leadership.
• Experience managing engineers responsible for production systems with meaningful reliability requirements.
• Experience with Kubernetes, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience improving on-call, SLOs, observability, incident response, or change management practices.
• Ability to guide technical trade-offs, clarify ownership and dependencies, and communicate priorities and risks to technical teams and senior leaders.
• Experience hiring, coaching, managing performance, and developing engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience building a new engineering team or platform function.
• Experience operating Kubernetes at scale or on bare metal.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation, GitOps, and progressive delivery.
• Experience leading teams with both development and operational responsibilities.
