Senior Cyber Defence (MSS) Engineer (D/F/M)

Location: Munich area, Germany; mobile working and flexible working hours are available, with domestic and international business travel required.

What you will do

• Lead technical customer onboardings and integrate critical assets and data sources into security monitoring platforms.
• Operate, troubleshoot, document, and improve cloud and on-premise infrastructure and core applications such as SOAR and ticketing systems.
• Build CI/CD and SOAR automations, including AI/LLM interfaces and REST API integrations.
• Coordinate internal application integrations and contribute to the MSS technology roadmap and R&D projects.
• Recommend and implement preventive controls to harden enterprise environments and reduce attack surfaces.
• Take functional or project responsibilities, including technical planning and subject-matter ownership.

Requirements

• Advanced experience in security operations engineering, DevOps/DevSecOps, and enterprise IT security.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, GitHub or Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Ansible, and ticketing systems.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting with Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, or Rust, plus REST API integration.
• Practical experience with SIEM, SOAR, and XDR platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, M365 Defender, or Splunk, and knowledge of the SOC detection and response lifecycle and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Experience securing Windows/AD, Linux, networking, and cloud environments, plus knowledge of AI/LLM fundamentals, local model deployment, and API integration.
• Fluent or very good business proficiency in written and spoken English and German; eligibility for security clearance may be required.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Azure Security/Architecture/DevOps/Developer, or Splunk certifications.
