Senior Manager, Quality Systems (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: USA - Remote. Minimal travel required (1%-10%); a valid U.S. driver's license and driving record check are required.

Salary: $145,000-$200,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Re-architect and continuously evolve a flexible Quality Management System aligned with the Autonomy Safety Management System.
• Build closed-loop continuous improvement processes covering root cause analysis, CAPA-style workflows, trend analysis, and risk analysis.
• Establish design controls, verification and validation, design reviews, and traceability for safety-critical vehicle platform development.
• Automate manual quality activities, including non-conformance triage, audit documentation, and fleet trend detection using AI/ML, LLM tooling, and workflow automation.
• Partner with autonomy, engineering, fleet operations, technical support, suppliers, and partners to connect field issues to engineering fixes.
• Define quality KPIs and OKRs while building a small, high-leverage quality systems function.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building or leading quality systems in a hardware/software engineering environment such as automotive, robotics, aerospace, or another safety-critical field.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience with design controls, verification and validation, change management, and root cause/CAPA processes.
• Experience substantially building, rebuilding, or improving a quality system or process, rather than only operating within an existing system.
• Experience with issue-tracking and workflow tools such as Jira for product lifecycle traceability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to and influencing stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in engineering, operations, or a quality-related field.
• Startup or fast-scaling company experience, especially building a function from scratch.
• Working knowledge of ISO/IATF, ISO 26262, or similar frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with AI/LLM tooling or workflow automation platforms.
• Experience with autonomous vehicle systems or other robotics and safety-critical technologies; ASQ or Lean Six Sigma certification.
