Lead Data Engineer (Gamedev)

Location: Remote worldwide; hubs are located in Cyprus, Armenia, the UAE, and Serbia

What you will do

• Lead a team of data engineers and drive development from planning through delivery.
• Run weekly planning, daily standups, and planning poker sessions.
• Coordinate cross-functional work with analytics and product teams.
• Contribute to architecture design for new projects.
• Support and extend existing data systems.
• Optimize and automate development workflows.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of professional experience.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, ClickHouse, dbt, Kafka, object storage or data lakes, Python, and SQL.
• Production-level Python and SQL skills.
• Experience leading a team of 3–5 people or working as a tech lead with ownership of deadlines.
• Experience delivering cross-functional projects involving engineering, analytics, and product.
• Strong estimation, knowledge-transfer, documentation, and constructive communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Iceberg, product analytics, and attribution tools such as AppsFlyer, MyTracker, or ad network trackers.
• Background in ad-tech, mobile analytics, or marketing analytics.
• Experience with storage migrations and cross-region infrastructure moves.
• Experience using AI tools and agentic approaches in data engineering.
