TL;DR
Lead Engineer - BrickLink (C#/.NET): Modernizing a live marketplace platform from legacy ASP/VBScript and Java technologies into a cloud-native ecosystem built with C#, React, and AWS with an accent on architectural direction, service-oriented design, and event-driven systems. Focus on leading re-platforming, defining API and data architecture standards, and improving reliability, deployment efficiency, delivery speed, and cloud adoption.
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; hybrid work with an average of 3 days per week in the office. Relocation support is not available.

What you will do
- Define and deliver the technical vision and roadmap for BrickLink's modernization journey.
- Lead the migration from legacy ASP/VBScript and Java technologies to C#, React, and AWS.
- Establish architectural standards for APIs, data platforms, observability, quality controls, and delivery practices.
- Guide architectural decisions, code review standards, engineering quality, and delivery improvements.
- Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across six teams.
- Partner with Product, business stakeholders, engineering leadership, and digital teams to align technical strategy with measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- Production experience with modern C# and .NET in a technical leadership, staff engineering, or architecture role.
- Experience designing AWS-based solutions using services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, RDS, or DynamoDB.
- Experience building scalable service-oriented and event-driven architectures with well-defined API contracts.
- Experience leading engineering teams through architectural decisions, code reviews, quality practices, and delivery improvements.
- Experience managing technical strategy with Product, business, and engineering stakeholders.
- Experience directing legacy-to-modern migration initiatives with measurable technology or business outcomes.
Nice to have
- Production experience with event-driven architectures and message queuing.
- Experience with continuous delivery, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, or domain-driven design.
- Experience contributing to engineering strategy across multiple teams or communities of practice.
- Experience with accessibility standards and digital compliance requirements such as GDPR or DSA.
