Head of License Management (Software Licensing)

Location: Hybrid (Remote/Office), Bucharest, Romania

What you will do

• Define and implement the global License Management strategy, governance model, priorities, and vendor-specific approaches.
• Support strategic software negotiations with licensing positions, demand scenarios, cost models, and renewal recommendations.
• Own software compliance, governance, audit readiness, risk identification, and mitigation.
• Drive sustainable license cost optimization based on usage, contractual rights, and future business demand.
• Lead and develop an international License Management team and coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Application Management, Service Owners, and Tools and Support.

Requirements

• University degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable discipline.
• Significant leadership experience in a complex international organization and extensive experience in License Management, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or software contract governance.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise software, SaaS, and engineering software licensing models.
• Experience with software negotiations, contract renewals, compliance assessments, audits, risk mitigation, and license cost optimization.
• Strong commercial, budgeting, forecasting, cost modeling, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
• Experience leading distributed international teams and working with License Administration, SAM tools, reporting, workflow automation, and engineering license services.
