Medical Science Liaison, Cardiovascular Surgery (m/w/d)

Location: Southern Germany, based in Germany, with extensive travel across the DACH region

Salary: €90,000–€130,000 gross annually

What you will do

• Build peer-to-peer scientific relationships with cardiac surgeons, surgical teams, specialist physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across the DACH region.
• Deliver balanced, evidence-based, non-promotional scientific exchange on cardiac surgery products, clinical evidence, appropriate use, and workflow integration.
• Support hospital and centre-level clinical education, product readiness discussions, and identification of practical barriers to correct use.
• Collect and communicate field insights on clinical practice, evidence gaps, pathway barriers, unmet needs, competitors, and scientific developments.
• Support medical education, congresses, advisory boards, expert meetings, and speaker briefings.
• Handle unsolicited scientific questions and ensure adverse events, special situations, product complaints, and safety observations are reported on time.

Requirements

• Previous industry experience as an MSL or in a closely related scientific role.
• Strong background in cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, cardiac surgery, perfusion, anaesthesiology, or a related hospital specialty.
• PharmD, PhD, MD, MSc, or an equivalent clinical qualification.
• Experience presenting and discussing clinical data with expert audiences and senior clinical stakeholders.
• Understanding of non-promotional scientific exchange, medical governance, adverse event reporting, and compliant field medical activity.
• Fluency in German and English is essential; the role requires residence in Southern Germany and extensive travel across the DACH region.

Nice to have

• Launch experience with specialist, hospital-based, procedural, or cardiac surgery products.
• Familiarity with hospital decision-making, surgical workflows, theatre environments, or critical-care settings.
• Experience with medical education, advisory boards, congresses, registries, or evidence-generation projects.
