Software Development Engineer (Backend)

hirify.global's Ring team develops apps and backend services for doorbells, cameras, and other connected security devices.

What you will do

• Design and document distributed systems and microservices.
• Build low-latency backend services with the uptime and reliability expected of security systems.
• Write robust, maintainable code with clear documentation.
• Deliver customer value iteratively while developing longer-term solutions for roadmap goals.
• Implement unit and integration test automation.
• Use generative AI tools and techniques to improve development productivity, code quality, and system design while maintaining security and compliance.

Requirements

• Professional software development experience outside internships.
• Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is preferred.
