Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Streaming Platform

Location: Remote in Mexico, Brazil, or Costa Rica. FTE hiring is available in Mexico, Brazil, and Costa Rica; contractor hiring is available only in Brazil.

Salary: 90,000 MXN plus benefits; 5,000 USD in Costa Rica; 40 USD for contractors.

What you will do

• Analyze and improve system designs to reduce failure modes and promote self-healing systems.
• Build and maintain observability systems covering logging, monitoring, distributed tracing, alerting, and offline testing tools.
• Partner with development, backend, application, and service engineering teams on reliable, performant, efficient, and scalable architectures.
• Define SLAs and SLOs for backend services and identify opportunities to improve application performance.
• Respond to incidents, resolve critical issues, and develop mitigation and prevention plans.
• Serve as a technical subject-matter expert across platforms supporting the streaming service.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong engineering, coding, data structures, and production software development skills.
• Experience with service-oriented APIs, cloud services, microservices, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Golang and JavaScript, with hands-on server software experience.
• Strong Linux fundamentals, including file systems, memory management, threads, processes, user-kernel boundaries, TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, security, monitoring, and storage systems.
