TL;DR
Staff Engineer - Developer Experience (Developer Platform): Establishing technical direction for developer platforms, standards, tooling, and engineering capabilities across the LEGO Group with an accent on architecture alignment, platform adoption, and engineering effectiveness. Focus on reducing technical debt, enabling GenAI and workflow automation, standardizing engineering practices, and improving developer productivity across multiple teams.
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; hybrid work with an average of 3 days per week in the office. The position is based at the Hub in Copenhagen, soon moving to Postbyen. Relocation support is not offered.

What you will do
- Set technical direction across Developer Platform, Developer Relations, Developer Ecosystem, Enterprise Transparency, and agentic software development capabilities.
- Shape platform strategies, common engineering standards, and architectural practices across multiple teams and products.
- Translate technology strategy into practical execution through structured problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.
- Drive cloud and platform engineering initiatives across interconnected systems.
- Improve platform adoption, developer productivity, engineering workflows, and engineering effectiveness.
- Support organizational change, coach engineers, and strengthen alignment between Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, Engineering Directors, and product teams.
Requirements
- Experience leading technical direction across multiple teams, products, or engineering domains.
- Experience shaping platform strategies and building developer platform capabilities in complex environments.
- Experience delivering cloud and platform engineering initiatives across interconnected systems.
- Experience influencing architectural decisions and establishing common engineering standards.
- Ability to connect long-term technology direction with practical execution and measurable outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience developing or scaling internal developer portals.
- Experience implementing engineering solutions using GitHub.
- Advanced developer tooling experience that improved engineering workflows.
- Experience guiding organizational change or mentoring engineers in an engineering organization.
