Operations Engineer (Java/Linux)

What you will do

• Provide escalated technical support for complex production issues and lead problem-management cases through resolution.
• Coordinate internal technical resources and third-party vendors for escalated support cases.
• Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize production server hardware and software.
• Monitor server and application health, resource utilization, file processing, scheduled tasks, dashboards, databases, and logs.
• Investigate alarms, warnings, errors, database entries, and processes to prioritize and resolve production issues.
• Perform performance benchmarking, capacity planning, user acceptance testing, and continuous improvement of production systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in application support, technical customer support, problem management, relational databases, programming, or software development.
• Experience supporting Java-based applications running on Linux servers.
• Knowledge of testing and troubleshooting techniques, with strong analytical, multitasking, detail-orientation, and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical customers.

Nice to have

• Operating-system or database certifications.
• Oracle OCP or OCA certification.
• SQL Server Certified Engineer certification.
