A/R Auditor - Project Hire (Medical Billing)

What you will do

• Audit medical claims, coding, and Explanation of Benefits for errors before or after submission.
• Contact insurance payers to investigate denied or incorrectly paid claims.
• Write appeals to overturn denied or underpaid claims and increase client collections.
• Work with payer portals, practice management systems, and other workflow technologies.
• Respond to client inquiries and participate in team and client meetings.
• Prioritize work queues efficiently while collaborating with leadership and colleagues.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in medical billing or accounts receivable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Professional communication skills and comfort working on the phone for most of the day.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, task orientation, and sense of urgency.
• Customer-service mindset and ability to work collaboratively in a competitive environment.
• Experience with Epic or NextGen is highly preferred.
