Senior Technical Programme Manager (Satellite Communications)

What you will do

• Plan, manage, and deliver large, multi-year service and infrastructure development programs with budgets of up to $50M.
• Coordinate sub-project managers, internal teams, external suppliers, and program partners to meet schedules and budgets.
• Work with senior customers, report program progress, and address customer concerns.
• Lead technical trade-offs across schedule, budget, risk, and quality, and present complex technical concepts to senior leadership.
• Support business development activities and engage with telecommunications and aerospace regulatory bodies.
• Manage programs involving satellite-based air traffic services, including ESA Iris programs.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
• Technical proficiency in telecommunications, IP-based mobile networking, and satellite systems.
• Strong analytical and systems engineering skills, including technology trade-offs and complex requirements.
• Experience managing large multidisciplinary, cross-site programs and delivering them within budget and schedule.
• Background in telecoms systems, ideally satellite communications, with knowledge of networks, protocols, and user terminals.
• UK Citizenship or EU (27) Citizenship required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and ISO27000 frameworks.
• Experience collecting functional and non-functional requirements for sophisticated projects.
• Knowledge of Inmarsat and other satellite communication systems.
• Experience with aeronautical standards, certification, ATN, or air traffic data link services.
