Senior Technical Programme Manager (Satellite Communications)

Location: London, United Kingdom. UK Citizenship or EU (27) Citizenship required. Frequent global international travel may be required.

What you will do

• Plan, manage, and deliver large multi-year service and infrastructure development programmes valued at up to $50M.
• Lead sub-project managers and multidisciplinary internal and external teams to deliver programme commitments on schedule and within budget.
• Manage ESA Iris programmes and satellite-based air traffic services within the AOS portfolio.
• Work with customers, communication and distribution partners, avionics suppliers, airframe manufacturers, air navigation service providers, and technology developers.
• Make technical trade-offs across schedule, budget, risk, and quality, and present complex concepts to senior leadership.
• Support business development and engagement with telecoms and aerospace regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
• Technical proficiency in telecommunications, IP-based mobile networking, and satellite systems.
• Strong analytical, systems engineering, technical trade-off, and relationship-management skills.
• Experience managing large, complex programmes involving multidisciplinary, cross-site internal and external teams.
• Background in telecoms systems, ideally satellite communications, with knowledge of networks, protocols, and user terminals.
• Experience in aerospace environments, aviation regulation, product development, PKI, and software engineering techniques.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and ISO27000 frameworks.
• Experience collecting IT functional and non-functional requirements for sophisticated projects.
• Knowledge of Inmarsat and other satellite communications systems.
• Knowledge of aeronautical air traffic services, including ARINC, RTCA, Eurocae, certification, ATN, or air traffic datalink services.
