Translator (Financial Services)

Location: 100% remote, hybrid, or in-office options; current work authorization in Canada is required

Salary: CAD $36–$55 per hour

What you will do

• Translate marketing, financial, advertising, and other materials into French in line with industry regulations and brand standards.
• Edit, proofread, and approve French-language materials in consultation with managers.
• Review translations produced by internal and external resources and resolve terminology, style, and content issues.
• Coordinate timelines with internal partners and escalate unresolved issues when needed.
• Research financial and industry terminology and maintain the internal terminology base and glossary.
• Monitor French-language trends and ensure documents remain accurate and appropriate.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of translation experience, preferably in financial services or a related industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Translation from a recognized institution or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills in English and French are required.
• Knowledge of financial markets and terminology.
• Ability to translate accurately in both languages and adapt language style appropriately.
• Strong organization, self-management, initiative, and ability to work with changing priorities and minimal direction.

Nice to have

• Membership in ATIO, OTTIAQ, or another recognized professional association.
• Experience with promotional videos for digital content.
