Investigator (Healthcare Security)

What you will do

• Conduct unbiased criminal and non-criminal investigations into activity and policy violations on Institute property.
• Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects; document findings; and maintain accurate case files.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and courts, prepare individuals for testimony, and testify when required.
• Perform threat assessments, safety audits, risk assessments, crime trend analysis, and executive protection assignments.
• Support victims of domestic or workplace violence through safety planning, threat assessments, court escorts, and security surveys.
• Conduct employee background checks and provide clear recommendations on adverse findings.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service; 7 years is preferred.
• Strong investigative, communication, leadership, report-writing, and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to manage complex interpersonal situations, respond effectively in crises, and work independently or collaboratively.
• Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License required.
• Must complete initial and annual criminal background checks and obtain required CPR/AED/First Aid, Narcan, de-escalation, and IAHSS certifications.

Nice to have

• Eligibility for licensure as a Special State Police Officer under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 22C, Section 63.
• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field.
• Seven years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
