What you will do

• Evaluate control philosophies for stabilizing DC microgrids and identify key variables that replace traditional AC concepts.
• Assess the control mechanisms of PV systems, battery energy storage systems, and EV chargers within a DC framework.
• Analyze equipment architectures and the replacement of conventional AC equipment with DC components.
• Quantify efficiency gains and financial implications of transitioning to DC microgrids.
• Identify and evaluate market opportunities, including data centers and EV charging hubs, while considering feasibility and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems, Power Electronics, or a related field.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems, battery storage, and power electronics.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or comparable modeling tools.
• Strong research skills, including literature reviews, technical comparisons, and structured engineering analyses.
• Analytical mindset, self-reliance, and interest in evolving energy system architectures.
