TL;DR
Embedded Security Team Lead (AI): Overseeing a small embedded security team delivering actionable intelligence on threats affecting people, operations, data, and reputation, with an accent on AI-sector developments, geopolitical risks, and intelligence analysis. Focus on setting priorities, developing threat-monitoring and incident-management practices, mentoring analysts, and briefing senior security stakeholders.

Location: Hybrid, with 3–4 days per week based at the client’s London office, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Occasional out-of-hours work may be required during emergencies and time-sensitive matters.

What you will do

  • Lead a small embedded team of UK- and US-based security analysts and oversee high-quality intelligence delivery.
  • Set priorities, delegate work, manage deadlines, maintain shift coverage, and provide feedback and mentoring.
  • Define intelligence priorities with client stakeholders and oversee regular and ad hoc intelligence products and briefings.
  • Develop the team’s expertise in AI trends and sector developments, assessing implications for client operations, personnel, data, and reputation.
  • Supervise all-source monitoring, threat triage, incident management, SOP development, and crisis briefings.
  • Collaborate with the client and other team leaders to improve assessment techniques and expand the intelligence function.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in private-sector security, corporate intelligence, and/or geopolitical analysis.
  • Previous team leadership or management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies, International Relations, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Fluent written and verbal English, with strong writing, briefing, research, analytical, and peer-review skills.
  • Knowledge of international relations, current affairs, geopolitical and security dynamics, and emerging security threats.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, manage workloads and deadlines, build client relationships, and deliver work with limited editing.

Nice to have

  • Experience or knowledge of AI trends, activism, and the technology sector.
  • Experience with analytical software or OSINT tools.
  • Cross-functional experience in threat monitoring, travel security, business continuity, or crisis management.
  • Experience with data analysis, visualisation, foresight analytics, or horizon-scanning products.
