Data Activation & Asset Management Internship (m/w/d) (Data Engineering)

Location: Spittal an der Drau, Austria; onsite at the Spittal plant

Procter & Gambl is a global consumer goods company whose Spittal site develops and produces solid and semi-solid food supplements and drug formulations.

What you will do

• Assess the site data landscape and align data capabilities with business objectives.
• Support the development and implementation of data strategy, management standards, guidelines, and principles.
• Identify high-value OT and QA laboratory data with Quality Assurance, Intelligent Controls & Automation, and Site Digital teams.
• Help implement and configure data pipelines from PLC and HMI source systems to the Corporate Data Lake and other systems.
• Support data governance, including metadata management, business glossaries, access controls, data publishing, and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with analysts, data consumers, and development teams while documenting progress and contributing to training materials.

Requirements

• Completed at least 4–6 semesters in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related IT field.
• Technical knowledge of data engineering, analytics, data pipelines, and data strategy.
• Basic knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data architecture.
• Ability to work independently, lead initiatives, communicate effectively, and collaborate in cross-functional projects.
• Fluent English, written and spoken, is required; German is highly preferred.
• Interest in continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile, Scrum, or DevOps.
• Familiarity with OT systems such as PLC and HMI or with industrial automation.
• Knowledge of metadata management and data catalog tools.
• Relevant certifications, such as Azure Fundamentals.
