Principal Engineer, Systems MBD (MATLAB/Simulink)

What you will do

• Lead model-based development activities for peritoneal dialysis systems and embedded control software.
• Define the MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded Coder framework, methodology, governance, reusable libraries, and reference architectures.
• Create plant and controller models for motors, actuators, sensors, power stages, safety interlocks, calibration, diagnostics, and other electromechanical behaviors.
• Translate system requirements into executable models and maintain traceability from DOORS and Simulink Requirements through testing and generated code.
• Establish MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL strategies, coverage targets, acceptance criteria, automated regression testing, and CI/CD for models and generated code.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Software, Hardware, V&V, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, Usability Engineering, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 15 years of relevant industrial experience in model-based development.
• Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder, control theory, real-time embedded systems, and electromechanical devices.
• Experience with coding standards, software development life cycles, automated code generation, static analysis, MISRA-C/C++, and defensive runtime checks.
• Knowledge of design control documentation, including Design History Files, technical risk assessment, mitigation, and execution.
• Ability to work with medical device standards and regulations including IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, FDA design controls, and IEC 62366.
